In England, the memorial service for the soldiers killed in war is celebrated on the nearest Sunday to the 11th November and is known as 'Remembrance Sunday'. There is also often a two minutes silence at 11 am on November 11th to mark the signing of the Armistice, ending the first world war. Because of the abundance of wild poppies in the fields of northern France, the poppy has become the symbol of remembrance and memorial wreathes are made of these.

We joined the crowds in Saint Pierre des Nids, who marched from the church in the square to the Monument aux Morts in the ceremony. Out of respect, I did not take any photographs during the ceremony itself.

En Angleterre, le service commémoratif pour les soldats tués dans la guerre est célébré sur le plus proche dimanche au 11 novembre et connaît comme 'le Dimanche du souvenir'. Il y a aussi souvent un silence de deux minutes à 11h00 le 11 novembre pour marquer la signature de l'Armistice, la fin la première guerre mondiale. À cause de l'abondance de pavots sauvages dans les champs de la France du nord, le pavot est devenu le symbole de souvenir et le mémorial tresse sont fait de ceux-ci.

Nous avons joint les foules dans Pierre Saint des Nids, qui a marché au pas de l'église dans la place au Monument aux Morts dans la cérémonie. Du respect, je n'ai pas pris de photographies pendant la cérémonie lui-même.
